Gaba Cannal – uBufakazi Ft. The Bless, ChubbyCheeks & PaezSA
Proof is the subject when Gaba Cannal joins The Bless, ChubbyCheeks and PaezSA on uBufakazi, from the uYena, Pt. 2 album.
The title reads like a word for witness or testimony, and I would leave the exact translation to speakers of the language. The idea is familiar enough. Every community has people who stand as living evidence that hard work, prayer or patience pays off. In Nigerian church language we call it a testimony, and everyone loves a good one, especially when the person standing in front used to be broke.
That makes it an unusual subject for a dance record, and a nice one. Parties are about the present, but a title about proof reminds you that every good night sits on top of a long struggle. The Bless, ChubbyCheeks and PaezSA share the credits, and The Bless appears on another song from the project. I will not describe the production or the vocals, since I cannot vouch for those details.
It suits anybody who has come through a rough season and wants the room to know it.
