Eben – Loving You
Some love songs say everything in two words, and Eben keeps it that plain with Loving You.
The phrase is a present-tense confession, and that matters. It does not say I loved you or I will love you. It says the feeling is happening right now, in the middle of ordinary days, whether the person is beside you or far away. Anyone who has said it on a phone call, in a voice note or across a dinner table knows how much courage a simple sentence can need.
Nigerians know the many ways of saying it. Some people show it with food, some with school fees and some with a call every morning, and the words only come out on special days. A title this direct feels like somebody finally saying aloud what the family has long guessed.
I will not pretend to describe production details or lyrics I cannot confirm. Eben is a Nigerian gospel singer, so the title could point to devotion toward a partner or toward God, and both readings fit comfortably in worship culture, where the language of love often does double duty. I would rather leave that open than invent a story.
There is a quiet confidence in how settled it sounds, with no drama and no question mark. By the time a friend sends you Loving You late at night, you will know exactly who they have been thinking about, or whom they have been thanking.
Anyone who is in love, or grateful for a love that has lasted, will see themselves in the idea. It suits slow evenings, wedding season and quiet mornings when thanks come easily.
