Mr Thela – Old Days Ft. UBizza Wethu

Every generation has its own version of that phrase. For some it is the primary school years of football in the street and cartoons on a small television. For others it is the first apartment, the first job or the group of friends who used to see each other every weekend. Looking back makes everything seem warmer than it was, and that gentle exaggeration is part of the charm.

Nigerians know this feeling well. We sit around and talk about how things used to be cheaper, how people used to greet each other and how music used to feel different. UBizza Wethu is the credited guest on this one. I will not describe the beat, the vocals or the production, since I cannot vouch for those details and your own ears are the fair judge.

It is a record for the quiet evening when an old photograph appears and you stay with it a little longer than planned.
