Dlala Thukzin – Monday Ft. Argento Dust & Felo Le Tee
The most hated day of the week gets a song as Dlala Thukzin brings Argento Dust and Felo Le Tee together on Monday, from Ember.
Everybody has a complicated relationship with that day. It is the morning after the weekend, the alarm that sounds too early, the traffic that suddenly returns and the inbox that has been waiting since Friday. For Nigerians it is also the day the generator fuel runs out and the hustle begins again.
That makes it a funny title for a dance record. Most party songs are about Friday and Saturday, so choosing the day everyone dreads is a bit of a twist. It could be a joke, a complaint or a way of making peace with the working week. Argento Dust appears on another track from the album, and Felo Le Tee is a familiar name in the genre. I will not describe the sound, since I cannot vouch for it.
Play it on the drive to work, when you need a reason to smile before the day begins.
