Xduppy – 5K Ft. Sleazy, Optimist Music ZA & Scotts Maphuma
Numbers make the best titles for money talk, and Xduppy keeps it simple with 5K, featuring Sleazy, Optimist Music ZA and Scotts Maphuma.
Five thousand is an interesting figure. It is not big enough to change your life and too big to ignore. In naira it is pocket money for some and a serious contribution to rent for others, and in rand it is a decent weekend. Whatever the currency, everyone has a story about what they would do with it.
A title like 5K works because the amount is relatable. It could be a payment, a bet, a fee or a target, and the record has room to go in any of those directions. I will not claim to know which route it takes, because that is for the listener to discover.
Sleazy and Optimist Music ZA are credited again, with Scotts Maphuma joining them, and all three appear across UMSWENKO 2.0. That repeated line up gives the album a feeling of a crew that works together.
Play it when the alert has just entered and you are deciding between sensible and enjoyment. We all know which one usually wins.
