Xduppy – Swipe Ft. Sleazy & Optimist Music ZA

In Nigeria the first picture that comes to mind is the POS agent at the roadside, the machine in one hand and a queue of impatient customers in front of him. Then there is the other kind, a thumb moving across a screen, deciding who is worth a message. One action, two completely different worlds, and a title this short lets you choose which one you are thinking of.

What I like is how everyday the subject is. Money leaves your account in seconds now, and relationships start and end with a flick of the finger. A one word title like Swipe could easily be about spending, flirting or both, and that openness gives the record room to mean something different to each listener.

Sleazy and Optimist Music ZA share the credits, and the track sits on UMSWENKO 2.0. I will not describe the beat, since I cannot vouch for details I have not established, but you can judge how it moves for yourself.

Play it at the end of the month, when the alert has just entered and the weekend plans are already forming. That is when this kind of subject feels most honest.
