Kirk Franklin – Time (Live) Ft. Tim Rogers

Time is the one thing nobody controls. It heals some wounds, delays some blessings and runs out on some opportunities. Nigerians have a saying that time will tell, and it is often used in moments of waiting, when the truth has not yet come out. A one word title holds all of that, and each listener will bring a different meaning to it.

Tim Rogers is the featured name here, and the live setting adds another layer to the idea. A live performance happens once, in one moment, and cannot be repeated exactly. That fits a subject about how fleeting our days are. I will not describe how the two voices share the stage, since I cannot vouch for those details.

Thinking about time also brings gratitude and regret together. There are things people wish they had done sooner and things they are glad they waited for. Every person has a list of both, and a title like this one invites us to read it.

It is fitting for the end of a year or for any evening when you pause to count what has passed.
