Blxckie – with me

The title points towards closeness and the wish to have someone around, whether that means a trusted friend, a romantic partner, or a person who makes difficult days easier. It is a simple phrase, but it can carry different meanings depending on the relationship behind it. That makes the track an interesting entry for listeners who connect with music about companionship and personal bonds.

One thing that makes an album tracklist interesting is how different titles can suggest different situations. After “welcome to the function,” this record brings a more personal idea into the sequence before the album moves into “lonely,” featuring Nigerian singer L.A.X. The change in titles creates an opportunity for listeners to consider how connection and solitude sit beside each other within the wider project.

Listed as the ninth track on the 15-song YENA album, with me gives Blxckie a solo moment between several collaborations. The project also features A-Reece, Bas, K1llbrady, KindlyNxsh, L.A.X, and Usimamane, bringing together artists connected to different parts of the hip-hop and African music scenes.
