BigXthaPlug – CRACCED
A spelling that raises eyebrows: BigXthaPlug puts CRACCED on the BETTER OVER TIME album as a solo record.
The title looks like a twist on a word meaning broken or damaged, and in slang it can also describe someone who is wildly good, the way we call a footballer mad or a singer wicked. Street spelling is its own language. Changing a few letters gives a plain word a new attitude, and anybody who has read a Nigerian comment section knows how fast such spellings spread.
That double life gives the title plenty of room. It could describe damage, a cracked screen or a broken heart, or it could describe a person at the top of his craft. I will not claim which meaning the record follows, and I will not describe the production or the vocals, since I cannot vouch for those details.
It suits anyone who enjoys decoding a title before pressing play.
