BigXthaPlug – I GET IT

Anybody who has been lectured by a parent knows how this sentence is used. Sometimes it means you truly understand. Sometimes it means please stop talking. The tone does all the work, and a listener will hear a different meaning depending on how his own week has gone.

That ambiguity is the charm. As a title, I GET IT can sound like wisdom arriving late, the moment a hard lesson finally makes sense after a loss, a betrayal or a long season of struggle. It can also sound tired, like a man who has heard every warning and still has to walk his own road. I will not describe the beat or the delivery, since I cannot vouch for those details.

It belongs to the evening after a difficult conversation, when your pride has settled and the truth is finally clear.
