Maestro Blink – Iron Again
There is a sense of repetition in Iron Again, with Maestro Blink closing this set of Viking-style titles from the album Ash and Iron.
The word “again” changes the meaning of the title because it suggests returning to the same material or process after it has already been worked. In a forge, repetition is part of the job. Metal may need to be heated, struck, cooled and worked again before it reaches the desired shape. The title captures that persistence in just two words.
Iron Again also fits the wider naming of Ash and Iron because the album repeatedly returns to materials, tools and stages of old-world craftsmanship. By bringing iron back into focus, this track feels like a reminder of the central substance connecting many of those ideas. It is familiar within the album, but the word “again” gives it a sense of continuation.
That repetition can also be read as a picture of discipline. The work at a forge is not completed with one strike of a hammer. It requires patience and repeated effort. For Viking-style music, that physical idea fits the rugged setting suggested across the project, and this title leaves the album with the feeling of returning to the work until the job is finally done.
