Maestro Blink – Ore
With Ore, Maestro Blink reduces the Viking-style imagery to one raw material, placing the song among the metal-focused titles on Ash and Iron.
Ore is what comes out of the ground before useful metal can be produced from it. That makes the title interesting because it represents the beginning of a process, not the finished result. There is still work to be done before the material becomes something that can be shaped into a tool, weapon or other object.
That idea fits Ash and Iron especially well. Across the album, the titles suggest different stages and objects connected to old metalworking and manual labour. Ore belongs near the start of that chain. It carries the image of something heavy, rough and unfinished, waiting to be processed by skilled hands.
The single-word title also gives the track a stripped-back identity. There is no extra explanation attached to it, so the material itself becomes the focus. For a Viking-style record, that works because the imagery feels physical rather than decorative. You can picture the raw substance before the hammering begins, which gives the song a clear place inside the album’s world.
