Kota Embassy – Come Closer Intro Ft. Dj Mremz, Ivy Beatz, Goitse Levati, G Master & Goitseone Mswazi Mokgethi

Think about how that line works in real life. Someone at a gathering waves you over because the story is getting good, or the music is about to turn. It is warm, a little bossy, and hard to ignore. A title like that sets a mood before anything else happens, and it tells you the record wants company.

The guest list backs that feeling up. DJ Mremz, Ivy Beatz, Goitse Levati, G Master and Goitseone Mswazi Mokgethi all share the credit, which is a lot of names for an opening cut. It reads like a small crowd gathered around one table, each person getting a say before the night begins.

There is also something smart about placing Come Closer Intro at the front of an album. Openers carry a duty to make people stay, and this one does it by speaking directly to the listener. It sounds like the host of a house party standing at the gate, making sure nobody leaves before the real fun starts.

Anyone who likes albums that greet you properly, not just throw you in, will understand why this was the right place to begin.
