King Wazza – Gojasi Ft. Macasset, Njabzin Daking, Lunatic 901, 4THEE_ZA, FaroQii MuziQ, Omogee’De Djy, Mpho Spizzy
With seven guests listed, the credits alone are worth a double take. King Wazza brings everyone together for Gojasi, one of the more crowded entries on the House of Elements album.
Macasset, Njabzin Daking, Lunatic 901, 4THEE_ZA, FaroQii MuziQ, Omogee’De Djy and Mpho Spizzy are all named on this one. That is a lot of voices and producers for a single record, and it tells you the song was built as a collective effort. In Nigerian terms, it is the equivalent of everyone in the area showing up to help carry the generator.
A big team can go two ways. It can feel scattered, or it can feel like a proper celebration where nobody is stepping on anybody. The challenge is giving each name a moment without losing the thread of the song, and with a producer at the centre who clearly likes collaboration, you can understand why he would take that risk.
The title itself is a curious one, and it gives the record an identity before a single second plays. People who follow South African house closely will probably recognise many of these names, so this feels like a family reunion more than a standard single release.
