Fireboy DML – BY FIRE!

Fire can represent anger, passion, destruction or the sudden energy that pushes a person to act. In everyday Nigerian conversation, expressions involving fire can be used in different ways, depending on the situation and the speaker’s intention. The words alone do not tell us which meaning the artist has in mind.

There is an interesting contrast in the image itself. Fire can clear a path, but it can also cause damage that takes years to repair. That makes the title a useful starting point for thinking about intense feelings, quick decisions and what happens when emotions get ahead of judgement.

Rather than guessing at the production or describing sounds that have not been established, the focus here remains on the idea the title raises. The lyrics would provide the clearest direction on whether the subject involves conflict, attraction, ambition or something else entirely.

Anyone who has acted in the heat of the moment knows that urgency does not always lead to the right choice. Sometimes courage means acting immediately, while other situations call for patience. That tension gives the phrase its appeal.
