Phyno – Let That Sink in (Ltsi) Album
Some albums ask you to slow down before you press play, and Phyno does that with Let That Sink In (LTSI), a project whose name sounds like advice from an elder.
The phrase is what people say after dropping a heavy fact or a hard truth, then pausing so it can land. Nigerians use it in barbershop debates, family meetings and timeline arguments, usually with a raised eyebrow. It carries confidence, because only a person sure of his point would stop talking and let silence do the work. The bracketed LTSI turns it into a tag, the kind of short form fans can caption and repeat.
What I find interesting is how the track list reads like a series of things worth sitting with. It moves through the upward walk of Ije Enu, the weakness named in Kriptonite and the plain conviction of I Believe. Along the way come the creator in Chukwu Okike, the playful chant of Bom Bom, the long view of 20 Years To Come and the one-woman focus of Magret. Then there is the lamb picture in Nwa Aturu, the loyalty question of Next Of Kin, the warm greeting of Ndewo and the proverb in Ndu ka Aku. Faith, family, romance and swagger all sit together, the way they do in real conversation.
The guest list is wide too. Jeriq, Chike, Fireboy DML, Lojay, Oxlade, Wande Coal and Seyi Vibez all appear across the project, which means the lessons are shared between rap and melody. I will not describe production details or lyrics I cannot confirm, but an Enugu rapper known for mixing Igbo with street confidence, joined by this many voices, suggests a project built for both reflection and noise.
There is a small contrast worth noticing. The name tells you to be quiet and think, yet several titles are made for loud speakers. By the time a friend asks what Let That Sink In (LTSI) is about, you may need a few minutes and a good story.
Anyone who enjoys Igbo rap with room for proverbs, worship and party energy will find something familiar here. It suits long drives, quiet evenings and weekends when you want a full album and not just one single.
