SteveHills – REDEEMED (Live) Ft. The Loveroom Global
Some words need no introduction in church, and SteveHills builds a whole record around one with REDEEMED (Live), featuring The Loveroom Global.
Anybody raised in a Nigerian congregation has sung something with that word in it. It speaks of being bought back, of a debt cleared by someone else, of a past that no longer has the final say. In everyday life the idea reaches far beyond the sanctuary. It is the person who messed up badly and was given another chance, the one whose name people stopped mentioning until they changed. Few feelings are as heavy as relief that big.
The live tag adds another layer. A live recording carries the room, and a song about redemption sounds different when a crowd answers back, because the testimony stops being one person’s story. The Loveroom Global is the credited guest, and the project shares the same name as the record. I will not describe the arrangement, the vocals or how the audience responds, since I cannot vouch for those details and your own ears are the fair judge.
It belongs to the quiet moment after a hard season, when you finally believe the past has been settled.
