Ichoku Obeledu – Obi Anuri (remix) Ft. Double Grace
Joy in Igbo is never a small word, and Ichoku Obeledu builds on it with Obi Anuri, now in a remix featuring Double Grace.
The title translates to a happy heart, and it points to the kind of gladness that shows on a face before any word is spoken. In Igbo homes, people pray for it at weddings, naming ceremonies and New Year gatherings, wishing each other a glad heart and a year without sorrow. It is a blessing as much as a feeling, and elders say it with real weight.
That is why the idea lands so easily. Most of us know how rare a truly glad heart can be, with bills, family pressure and long waiting all pulling the other way. A person who can say theirs is glad has usually come through something. In Nigerian church life, that moment often arrives as a testimony, where somebody stands up and credits God for turning sorrow into dancing.
The word remix also tells you something. A second version usually means people responded to the first, and the artist wanted to give it another life. I will not pretend to describe production details or lyrics I cannot confirm, but Double Grace on the credits adds a second voice, and praise tends to sound bigger when one person leads and another answers.
There is a quiet beauty in naming a song after the feeling people want most. By the time a friend asks you to send Obi Anuri for their Sunday morning, you will probably know they have something fresh to celebrate.
Anyone who has come through a hard season and found gladness again will see themselves in the idea. It suits thanksgiving services, family gatherings and bright mornings when gratitude comes easily.
