Pst. Emmanuel Mule – Glory to the Lamb
Gospel singer Pst. Emmanuel Mule has a worship record out titled Glory to the Lamb, and the title alone tells you what kind of room it was made for.
The word “Lamb” carries a lot in Christian worship. Anyone who grew up in a Nigerian church knows it points to Jesus, the sacrifice that settled the matter. So when a song begins from that place, it is not trying to be clever. It is a declaration of thanks, the kind you sing when you have run out of ways to explain what God has done for you.
What I find interesting is how plain the title is. There is no riddle in it and no long sentence to decode. A congregation can pick it up on the first Sunday and sing it back without a lyric sheet. That is usually the mark of a good worship song, because it has to work for a choir on a platform and for one person praying quietly in a kitchen at five in the morning. The record also shares its name with the album, so the project clearly leans on this idea as its centre.
Think of where a song like this fits in real life. It suits a Sunday service, a vigil when the night is getting long, a thanksgiving programme after a hard year, or just a morning when you need to settle your mind before the day begins. Someone waiting on a breakthrough can sing it as an act of faith, while someone who already got theirs can sing it as gratitude. Both people end up in the same place, giving glory, and I think that is the real strength of a title like this.
