Godswill Oyor – This Is the Air I Breathe Ft. Daniel Ojo

Air is the thing nobody thinks about until it is gone. People take breath for granted all day, yet every second depends on it. Calling God the air one breathes says that He is that basic, always present and impossible to live without, and the line is one many worshippers will recognise from the wider church songbook.

In Nigeria, we think about daily necessities a lot. Light, water, fuel and food are constant topics, so a picture of something we cannot do without feels very real. People who have survived dark seasons often describe their faith the same way, not as an extra, but as the thing that kept them alive.

I will not describe the arrangement, since I cannot confirm it, but a worship song built on a line this calm often works through repetition, with the room singing it slowly until it settles into the mind. By the time a friend asks you to send This is the air I breathe for their quiet time, you will know they want stillness.

Anyone who values quiet, simple worship will see themselves here. It suits early mornings and late evenings.
