Gabriel Eziashi – Raggae Goodnews Ft. Buchi

Reggae is the music of Jamaica, known for its steady, swaying rhythm and its long history of carrying messages of hope, struggle and faith. Many Nigerians grew up with it, from Bob Marley records at family parties to the Nigerian reggae stars who made the sound their own. Pairing it with the words good news places the old gospel message inside a rhythm many people already love.

That is an interesting idea for worship. Good news in the Christian sense is the message of salvation, and it has always been told in the music of the people. A gentle, swaying beat makes the message feel easy and warm, like a conversation on a veranda at sunset.

I will not pretend to describe production details or lyrics I cannot confirm, but the title points toward a lighter, more relaxed worship mood, with Buchi on the credits adding a second voice. Buchi is a name many Nigerian listeners link with reggae, so the pairing makes sense on paper.

There is also a small charm in the spelling of the title, which keeps the feel of how the word is spoken. By the time a friend asks if you have heard Raggae Goodnews, you will probably already be smiling.

Anyone who likes worship with a gentle sway, or enjoys reggae at a family gathering, will see themselves in the idea. It suits relaxed Sundays, slow drives and evenings when you want faith without rush.
