Babyfxce E – What Else

Think about when people actually say those words. A man finishes listing everything he has done and then asks what else you want from him. A woman has given her time, her money and her patience and asks the same thing, tired and a little annoyed. It can be a challenge, a complaint or a boast, depending on the tone, and the title gives no clue which one it is. Back home we say “wetin remain?” or “what again do you want?”, and the energy is very close.

What I find interesting is how unfinished it feels. Most song titles state something, but this one hangs in the air and waits for an answer. That makes it work for different situations at once: a rapper who has already won and is wondering what is left to chase, or one who has delivered everything and is tired of being asked for more. Which of those the verses go for is something only a proper listen can confirm.

It also suits the Detroit street rap world Babyfxce E comes from, where confidence and a bit of attitude are part of the language. A short, direct question like this carries that swagger without needing many words, and rap has always been good at making simple phrases sound like statements.

It is a record for those moments when you have done your part and feel the world is still asking for more, whether at work, in a relationship or in your own head.
