King Wazza – Abantu Bathi Yebo Ft. 4THEE_ZA, Omogee’De Djy, Lunatic 901, Real Soulistic Tee, Mpho Spizzy, Zwane, Asive Mtsolo, Titi Muziq

The title translates roughly as people say yes, and it sounds like a line that could describe approval, agreement or simply the crowd going along. In real life, yes can be generous or it can be lazy. Everybody has met the friend who agrees with whatever is said, and the person who says yes to the point of exhaustion.

The credits are the biggest in the whole project, with 4THEE_ZA, Omogee’De Djy, Lunatic 901, Real Soulistic Tee, Mpho Spizzy, Zwane, Asive Mtsolo and titi muziq all listed. That many names is almost a statement on its own. It looks like a final gathering where everybody who contributed to the album is invited back for one last round.

A crowd saying yes together is a lovely image, like a stadium or a church hall answering a call. The mood suggests togetherness more than argument, and for a long project it is a fitting way to land, with a room full of friends nodding in the same direction.
