Five Tribes – Scars Don’t Sleep

Scars are often associated with healing, but they can also carry memories. A person may move on from an argument, a broken relationship, family trouble or another painful experience, yet certain moments can still return when something brings them back to mind. That is where the title becomes interesting. Sleep suggests rest and silence, while a scar suggests something that has already happened. Put together, the words create a picture of pain that refuses to become completely quiet.

The track sits on the What Remains album, a title that makes this subject feel connected to the wider idea of what people carry after difficult experiences. There is a difference between forgetting something and learning to live with it. Someone can rebuild their life, smile again and continue with everyday responsibilities while still having parts of the past that have not completely lost their weight.

That makes the subject especially familiar to anyone who has experienced a change they never expected. A scar does not need to be visible to be real. It can exist in the way someone trusts people, handles conflict, remembers a certain place or reacts to a conversation that touches an old wound. The strongest idea here is that healing does not always mean the past becomes silent. Sometimes it simply means learning how to carry what happened without allowing it to control every new day.
