TripleT Sounds – Be a Good Human

TripleT Sounds takes a simple idea and turns it into a thoughtful Afrosounds record with Be a Good Human, a song about compassion, inequality, and choosing to do what is right.

The title is what makes this record immediately relatable. Being a good human is not about having a perfect life or always knowing what to say. Sometimes it is checking on somebody, helping when you can, showing compassion, or choosing not to make another person’s difficult situation worse. The song deals with the uncomfortable side of life too, recognising that some questions may never have clear answers. What remains in our control is how we treat people while we are here.

TripleT Sounds handles the production, with the track listed as Afrosounds and also tagged around motivation and inspiration. The music sits in that space where the message is important without needing to turn the record into a sermon. I like the title because it sounds almost like advice from an older person, something simple you might hear during a real conversation, but the subject underneath it is much bigger. The song asks listeners to think about inequality and the choices people make when they encounter someone else’s struggle.

There is also a useful connection to the wider direction of TripleT Sounds. The artist’s catalogue includes songs centred on faith, hope, healing, gratitude and purpose, so the concern for how people treat one another fits naturally within that body of work. This is the kind of record that works best when you actually stop for a moment and think about the question behind the title: with everything happening around us, what kind of person are we choosing to be?
